Falling Skies Invades again June 17 9/8c on TNT!

Thanks to the great people over at TNT, The Falling Skies Cast received the season two press kit for the upcoming return of the sci-fi hit.  Falling Skies returns in the U.S. to TNT on June 17th 9/8c.

The press kit, pictured on the right, includes the first four episodes of season two, a new character guide for season two, a press release and some instructions about not revealing spoilers.  Soon we will be posting some non-spoiler review/preview of the early part of season 2 of Falling Skies.  We will also be adding more info to our episode guide and character guide soon.

One thing that I have decided to do this year for the podcast, I am recording my recap and other discussion following my first viewing of the episode, which will be released in the podcast episodes later this summer.  This way I can still take part in speculation and theories without spoiling listeners and not having any inside knowledge within these prerecorded portion of the show.  I got this idea from the way that Jorge Garcia and Sidekick 22 podcasted about LOST on their Geronimo Jack's Beard Podcast for LOST season 6.

I'm looking forward to sharing more thoughts about Season two as it approaches.

Falling Skies Season 2 Comic Prequel

Chapter one and chapter two of the Falling Skies season 2 comic prequel have been added to FallingSkies.com and the Dark Horse Comics app.  The comic focuses on the Battle of Fitchburg.

Chapter one was published on April 19, 2012.  The official description states that "Catastrophe approaches as Dai makes it back to camp, only to deliver bad news … news that could lead to a final stand for the Second Mass."

Chapter two was Published May 2, 2012.  The official description states that "Uncle Scott and many others fight for their lives as Anne and Lourdes look on helplessly. None of them is aware of what the patrol team has uncovered and the peril they are really in."

Spoiler TV Gets the Scoop on TNT Summer Schedule

About 30 minutes before I received an email from the Tuner Newsroom, Andy from Spoiler TV sent me a link to their story detailing the summer schedule for TNT.  The post includes the official premiere date for Falling Skies Season Two which is Father's Day June 17, 2012.  This is the date I've mentioned a few times here on the website as well as several times on the podcast.  This date just makes sense based on the success of season one and the same order of 10 episodes.  Read more about the rest of the TNT summer schedule at SpoilerTV.

Falling Skies Returns in June on TNT and on DVD & Blu-Ray

TNT via MTV Geek confirmed that June is when Falling Skies will return for season 2. They have not announced a return date yet.  We will share the official announcement when it is made.  I think that Father's Day 2012 will be the return date which is June 17, 2012.

TNT also through MTV Geek announced today that the official release date for Falling Skies Season one on  DVD and Blu-Ray is June 5th.  You can pre-order the Falling Skies Season One on DVD and Falling Skies Season One Blu-Ray now at Amazon.

MTV Geek also posted two videos today for Falling Skies Season 2. These short videos do contain new footage for season two and do contain some spoilers for the new season.

Enemy Mine and Falling Skies

TNT has redesigned their FallingSkies.com website and has also posted a new Season Two Preview video for the upcoming season two of Falling Skies!  They've also added a few other bells and whistles such as a look back at season one, a twitter contest to vote on Tom's fate, and the announcement of a Falling Skies App coming soon to iOS and Android.

The new design is reminiscent of the 1980s movie poster for "Enemy Mine."  The movie starred Dennis Quaid and Louis Gossett, Jr. and was about a human and alien that were involved in an interstellar war.  Two adversaries are involved in space battle and crash land on a world and have to depend on each other to survive.  Many other things occur in the movie, including asexually reproduction (which is mentioned in the Falling Skies Season Two Preview video), but I don't won't to spoil it for you.  You can check "Enemy Mine" on Netflix Instant Watch.
